This Week Topics

Mike Lux, President of American Family Voices joins the conversation to provide updates on GOP plans to cut funding for the EPA, proposed changes to last year’s banking reforms  and how the 2012 GOP budget proposed by Paul Ryan will affect the working class and those on Medicare and Medicaid.

Question of the Week
The birther movement has received rejuvenation from Presidential hopeful Donald Trump.  According to a recent poll, 51% of likely GOP voters believe that President Obama was born in another country and another 21% are not sure.
Why do you think this issue is still drawing traction, long after the Obama campaign released a birth certificate in 2008 indicating he was born in Hawaii?

 Poll Question
Do you agree with the 46% of GOP voters in a recent Mississippi poll that interracial marriage should be illegal?

On the poll question. Hard to believe that people still think that way. As a libertarian who usually sides with Republicans I found this poll to be ill and frankly ignorant. I felt there had to be more to the story than just what the sentence says so I tracked down the study done by Public Policy Poling a Democratic Party Affiliated polling firm, so right from the get go you know the study isn’t unbiased. Also reading the study they only polled 400 people, hardly a cross section by any means. Reading the study you will see that the vast majority of those who voted in favor of making interracial marriage illegal were 65 and up No matter how you cut it though there is no room in this country for that kind of ignorance.
