First Lady of Song

Known for a vocal range spanning three octaves, Newport News VA, born Ella Fitzgerald  was the winner of thirteen Grammy awards over her 59 year recording career and the recipient of both the National Medal of Art and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Ella sold more than 40 million albums in a stellar career with a voice described as flexible, wide ranging and ageless. Tanya Free and Friends salute the contributions and legacy of  Ms. Ella Jane Fitzgerald
