Take a Stand

I would like to thank Fox News and Andrew Breitbart for introducing us to the remarkable Ms. Shirley Sherrod .What was intended to be a racial firebomb quickly turned into a dud while revealing the true colors of those that are quick to spread misinformation and malicious innuendo.

Giving credit where credit is due, I would like to sincerely thank CNN for giving Ms. Sherrod a platform to unveil the whole story, not an edited distortion of the facts. A 21st century Rosa Parks, Ms. Sherrod stood firm without wavering or backing down from Breitbart, Fox News, the NAACP and the White House. WOW!

Let’s face it, racial tension is on the rise in America. This is not the first time and chances are not the last time that the right wing media and extremists will choose to fan the flames of racial discord. This was certainly a teachable moment and it is my sincere hope that the lessons learned will lead us to a legitimate, open and honest discussion of race relations.

We should all, regardless of race or political affiliation, emulate the courageous and steadfast nature of Shirley Sherrod and come out of the shadows to take a stand for justice and equality for all.

don't forget to give other credit where it is due. Both Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck requested full transcripts before their respective shows aired. Neither was able to have them furnished in time. So Sean reported on what was available at the time while Glenn did not report on it at all until the following day when he did receive the full transcript. Glenn then defended Shirley and denounced the NAACP and he White House for their race to judgment without doing the same.

Funny how Fox News is called down at the first wisp of a contradicting view in their reporting, but not giving credit when they do something right that the "Left" screwed up in their handling of an issue!
