Virginia Democratic Senator Webb has called for an end to affirmative action diversity programs suggesting that these programs have marginalized and disadvantaged struggling whites.

I agree with senator Webb.The intent is not being met.These programs are not of benefit to the intended demographic.We need to move race baiting if we are to achieve a color neutral and colorblind society,

How could these programs marginalize whites.Their intent is to even the playing field.Does even equal marginalization? Disadvantaged whites still have an upper hand on disadvantaged people of color.

Why are there those that refuse to accept the progress made and insist on preferential treatment. Have you noticed that there is a Black man in the white house and a Hispanic on the Supreme Court? Prosecute those that discriminate and allow those archaic discriminatory practices to end.

This is a new generation of Americans. We truly believe that all men are created equally as MLK spoke of. We are more educated than the people that started these programs and actions. We are more responsible and know the difference between right and wrong. The only people that need to hide behind these "affirmative action diversity programs" are the ones that don't know better and are less educated people. And back to Comment on 3... You should really think about what you are talking about before opening your mouth. American Indians, Hawaii, and Mexico?

We need to admit that these programs don't work and have hindered the progress toward equality for many minorities simply because they favor quotas over competence.

Quite frankly I am tired of all the racial talk. There was a time when we needed affirmative action. There was a time when we needed equal rights activist. We no longer need them. Those responsible for racism in this country today are the so called minorities. The younger generations don't care about race. The older generations that do are dying or already dead. Why should a black man get favor, when the 2 applicants are equally qualified? I'm tired of minorities refering to themselves as African American or Hispanic American. Why can't you just lable yourselves as American? Most African Americans have no attachment to Africa nor have they in 500 years. My ancestors are from Ireland within 2 generations and we refer to ourselves as American. If Mexico is so great, and you feel you need to wave a Mexican flag, then go back to Mexico and try to acheive the life you have now over there. We are all different. We will never agree on everything, but be responsible for yourself. Work hard. Build a name for yourself. Don't take handouts. Pay your taxes. Give something back to the community. Treat your fellow man the way you would want to be treated and you WILL succeed and you won't have to worry about affirmative action.
