Don't Fall for the Hype!
Last week’s NAACP resolution demanding the repudiation of the racist elements of the Tea Party has caused not only a media frenzy , but sparked disagreement and debate among many in the community as to whether this fringe subset of the Republican Party is even worthy of the attention of the nation’s preeminent advocacy organization. While the merits of the resolution can be debated, the highly documented presence of bigotry and racism within the Tea Party is not even worthy of debate despite the denials from Republican and former House Majority Leader Dick Armey and other Tea Party leaders.
While the media drew attention to this one somewhat controversial resolution, the NAACP passed 75 resolutions ranging from education, immigration and jobs to fixing our broken criminal justice system that have failed to receive the attention and in some cases even a mention in the mainstream news media outlets.
Let’s not get distracted by the hype.
Live life with a purpose!

It seems as though the NAACP is all over the news for all of the wrong reasons. I appreciate the renewed sense of activism, but reflection needs to preceed reaction.Jealous did the right thing regarding the tea party and the right thing by retracting his censure of the fired USDA employee. The president needs to follow the example and retract his rebuke and termination of this woman. Why do they even respond to Fox News?
