Comparing Apples to Oranges

George W. Bush is a president that seems to have been quickly forgotten by some and rarely mentioned at all by others. It’s as though his presidency never existed. Oh, but it did! If for no other reason, a reflection of his presidency can certainly put things in perspective as to where we have been and where we are now especially sense there are many who insist on comparing President Obama’s handling of the BP oil crisis to Bush’s Katrina.

Tragically, lives were lost in Katrina and in the BP oil explosion. However the nature and handling of each incident are on opposite ends of the spectrum. How can one honestly compare the slow and haphazard response of the Bush administration during the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina to the Obama administration’s response to the crisis in the Gulf that was created and mishandled by British Petroleum?

The CEO of this multinational multibillion dollar oil company has reportedly admitted that “it was probably true that BP should have done more to prepare for such an emergency.”

While critics are spending their time resurrecting the Bush presidency in an effort to tarnish the Obama administration, millions of gallons of oil are continuing to spill daily as BP tries to find a fix while applying band aid after band aid.

Let’s reflect but keep it in perspective.

What you have is a comparison of an idiot and an intellectual

You should not be surprised that everything is going to be politicized.

what will come out of this disaster is an environmental patriot act bill. you wont be able to blame that on bush. in regard to the potus, the people who criticize everything he does (and did not do the same with bush) are no different than the people who excuse everything he does (and say well bush did it too)

The problem is that no one knows how to "fix it" Thats why we will continue the blame game.
