Who's Handling Things?
The Obama administration has faced a flurry of criticism regarding BP’s handling of the spillage in the Gulf.
Who do you think should be held accountable, BP or the President?

This issue clearly rests with the POTUS and his lack of leadership on this matter. The "I can't get my hands dirty" approach will NOT work on this one.

Its about time the President takes charge. Sure BP caused this nightmare, but for God's sake, this disaster is happening in our waters and effects Americans and the entire world. Maybe if the liberals let us drill on LAND at the sake of a few spotted owls, 50 billion sea creatures wouldn't be at risk of elimination.

Of course ,we all know that the buck stops with the President. This is not a liberal vs conservative issue. This is a case where deregulation of the industry by both dems and repubs has put us in a situation where no one even has a clue how to fix this leak. The President said that he has summoned the best minds in the country.Let's see.

Shared responsibility.Shared Blame.Neither has shown the leadership needed now!

I'm not sure if you're working for BP or the Republican Party, or both. By asking this question, you repeat a rightwing talking point and to me, discredit whatever else you have to say. BP would LOVE to have someone else responsible. All those 'lower-tax, smaller government' people are the very same ones blaming government for not acting sooner or enough. Can't have it both ways.

I disagree with Julian. I am a true progressive and registered Democrat. We can not get locked into avoiding a discussion.Do you actually feel that the administration bears no responsibility in at least managing the situation?

BP of course, since they created this mess. But you definitely have to add in Haliburton and TransOcean for their splendid sabotage plans. They love it when a plan comes together.

It is on BP. The President did not cause the leak or set the deregulation in place that created these monster companies.
