One year removed from consideration for the Olympics, Chicago leaders are divided over suggestions to bring in the National Guard to combat the city’s growing violence.

No,there is no reason to deploy troops on urban streets.This will truly lead to urban warfare.Innocent citizens rights will be trampled. They need to take a close look at city and police leadership.

There are people afraid to leave their homes.Something needs to happen. I say we need to do whatever we can including the National Guard.

Strength of the Police force is down 700 officers WHY!!!!!
The National Guard should not be called out until the Government has been failed and the city is being taken over by criminals, or last resort and even if there was a Natural Disaster. Other wise NO Guardsman.
The Local Government needs to hire more officers and even hire and Train SWAT members to deal with this.
The City and surrounding county Law Enforcement need to combine and start taken back thier City, without Military help.
Be proactive and stop being scared of the Drug Dealers in your city. Act like you have a set of Balls and start taken control of your city. STOP, leaving it up to someone else to clean up your town!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is always difficult to assess a situation from a distance,but it is hard to fathom any chance that armed troops on the ground wouldn't make the situation worse.
