Hand Check

In addition to body scanners, TSA screeners will be allowed to randomly swab airport passengers’ hands for detection of explosives.

Do you think this procedure can be implemented without discrimination or profiling?

Profiling does not work.Crazies come in all colors and creeds.

No,Why not everyone?

Profiling of black and brown people will continue even though the most heinous crimes of terror over the years were not performed by people of color.

This is a rhetorical question, isn't it?

I do not understand this random mentality.Swab everyone and do everything possible to ensure safety.

You got to be kidding me. discrimination or profiling is going to be present in some form of fashion. However, What is this world coming to now. Will they come up with stick a probe in your butt to see if your hiding something or what?

Come on now. If an X-ray machine can't do it, what will? Each procedure is going to add more time to what is already there. You got to show up supposedly 1 hr prior to flight inorder to get screened, than your quarentined until your flight. Now you will have to show up 2 1/2 hrs prior to flight and get thru this for the line maybe long.

If they are discrimination or profiling all minorities:
Blacks and foreign nationals than they will have to have an airplane just for minorites, due to the long screening process and to keep flight going on time.

It will not matter about discrimination or profiling because as Cookie said they come in all colors and creeds.

Law enforcers and screeners and upper management you need to do your job more effectively.

Profiling is wrong in any setting. There is no fair way to approach this.

10. Marie said...

Who do you profile?

11. Gail said...

Accept the fact that profiling will continue.

Everytime there is a new technology,we rush to implement and pay huge sums to the designers. We need to take the time to scan, pat down and search every piece of luggage. There is no easy way. We must be willing to sacrifice a little inconvenience for overall safety.

I am okay with profiling if it leads to more safety,

I think that profiling is undeniable and discrimination is obvious.

How do they determine who to swab?Terrorists come in all hues. I agree with Cookie as well.A white male in an Armani suit with a briefcase in first class would definitely be overlooked. Swab and wand everybody. The TSA needs to get the funding to do it right. We have to be patient, show up early and deal with it as a sign of the times.

16. Kevin said...

Wayne you can't have it both ways. You can not ensure safety without a little discomfort

17. Gabe said...

No, I don't

The TSA is in charge of airport screening, if their policies are discriminatory make enough noise and they will come up with something different.

19. Cary said...

This makes no sense.I'm sorry.I just don't get it.Random swabbing?

At any point we can holla discrimation or profiling.I agree with Cookie and Shay, evilness comes in all shapes, sizes, and color. If the TSA want's to do the right thing for security, then SWAB everyone.

21. George said...

Its a waste of time and money if they don't check every passenger

Profiling and discrimination are unavoidable if these checks are random.

23. Sandra said...

Another way to stereotype and discriminate.

24. jeff said...
