Common Sense
Across the country, a smoke-free environment has become rather commonplace in the workplace, hospitals, restaurants, bars and taverns. While we have rightly cleared the air of these environments, another social concern has arisen. There is a growing trend among lawmakers to join the bandwagon of several states that allow concealed weapons in public settings including the workplace, parks, college campuses and yes – restaurants, bars and taverns.
The thought of allowing concealed weapons in these public settings seems to be more of a threat to our public safety than being exposed to second hand smoke. We would be best served to place some 21st century common sense to an 18th century ideal.

Liberals want to restrict smoking and guns and you wonder why the tea bagger movement is growing by leaps and bounds.

The right to bear arms does legitimize dangerous behavior. Freedom of speech does not allow you to yell fire in a public building.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
