Is race a factor in being an effective role model?

A recent study revealed that one African American teacher in the third, fourth or fifth grade reduced the probability of low income African American boys dropping out of high school by almost 40%. By high School, both African American boys and girls that have had one African American teacher have better expectations of attending college.

What’s Your Take? Is race a factor in being an effective role model? Who is your role model? Are you a role model?
