We have had three Republican and one Democratic Presidential Debates so far. Have the issues important to you been addressed? President Obama called several aspects of the death penalty “Deeply Troubling” in a recent interview. Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton breaks with her fellow Democratic contenders after announcing that she does not favor abolishing the death penalty, but would like to see it used more judiciously. About six in 10 Americans favor the use of the death penalty for a person convicted of murder, according to a recent poll. WMXP FM Greenville SC founder Efia Nwanganza joins the conversation to discuss the Justice For Spring Valley High School Rally that she organized last week on the grounds of the Statehouse in South Carolina. These stories and more this Wednesday on the The Tanya Free and Friends Talk Show.

Efia Nwangaza is a lifelong civil/human rights activist and freedom fighter who first worked for the liberation of African/Black people as a child in her Garveyite parents' apostolic faith church, in her birth place of Norfolk, Virginia. At age 13 years, she served as secretary of the Norfolk Branch of the NAACP Youth and College Chapter and, later in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania she fought police violence, worked in the sucessful NAACP led campaign to desegregate Girard College, "a school for poor white, male, orphans" which then sat in the heart of Black North Philadelphia. Efia and her family helped raise money and collect clothes and food to send South for those evicted and persecuted for attempting and registering to vote.

22. Cameron said...

A 9-year-old boy Tyshawn Lee who was killed in Chicago this week was "lured" into an alley and shot in a gang-related attack. The gang was sending a message to the boy's father. Damn shame. Please talk about this next week and keep speaking about getting guns off the street.

23. Long Time Listener said...

#Tyshawn Lee RIP

Where is the Black clergy in Chicago? I applaud the White priest who has put his life on the line.I think his name is Fr.Flagler. What should be the role of the Faith commumity? Would love to hear Pastor Woodson and another minister weigh in.We talk about police killings and we need to talk about guns and gang violence.

30. Break The Chains said...

Listening Now 10:25 am Saturday morning! What the hell i s wrong with the guy justifying what that cop did?Right before the Praise Break. He needs a fence around him

31. Break The Chains said...

Quote of the Year " Ben Carson. That Nigga is sleep"from your caller Sunshine. Now that's the TRUTH!

Thank you for your commitment to break the chains of ignorance and apathy in our community. You are doing it in a way like non other.

33. Ronnie said...

12 year old African American Tamir Rice killed by White cops.Labeled justified and no charges against cops.6 year old Caucasian Jeremy Mardis killed by Black cops.Cops facing murder charges. That's why its true that Black Lives Don't Matter. Something is wrong and nobody is saying a damn thing.Killing a White kid versus killing a Black kid.White Lives Matter. Please expose this Tanya!I attached the story.

34. Break The Chains said...

Ronnie is keeping it 100

35. Break The Chains said...

This is what's wrong with mainstream media.ABC's Lara Spencer huddled up and tweeting about Donald Trump after an interview. How unprofessional is that? We cannot depend on the 4 networks to give fair news. We need more independent sources like your show and Black Talk Radio to get to the truth.

36. Grace said...

Wow,this show has really touched a nerve based on all these comments. No shortage of topics for you this week
.Ronnie's post is so disturbing .Even Black cops are treated differently in the same situation.

37. Dee Dee said...

Cops,Black and White are guilty

38. Brendan said...

Your show is so good that everyone at WCLM stop and listen and discuss in their studio.I went by to watch last weekand was told that you broadcast and are syndicated from another studio .We had our own listening party.

39. Long Time Listener said...

Are you going to have Gilbert or Wendell to come back Wednesday after Tuesday's debate?

40. Dean said...

Another debate? Lol
