What's Your Take?

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan are opening a school in California that will offer healthcare services to students attending from birth to graduation. The school will be a private nonprofit institution set to open in 2016. Zuckerberg said “It’s a new kind of school that brings education and healthcare together”.

What’s your take? Do you think the combination of free comprehensive healthcare and education will lead to improved academic success, especially in low income communities?

I applaud the effort and believe that this too could work in public school settings if Medicaid Expansion was approved in states, like Virginia that refuse to allow the people in the gap between Medicaid and Obamacare.

The lack of health care as well for many a hot breakfast and lunch is a barrier to success in school
