Radio Executive Dave Kerpen made the news after he re-claimed his life by quitting drinking coffee. He got through the day, as many of us do, with multiple cups of coffee. After feeling restless, irritable and health concerns, he quit cold turkey. Abstaining from coffee has changed his life, and he feels a lot better and is saving money.

What’s Your Take? Are you a coffee junkie? How much do you spend a day on coffee?

The Washington Football Club
By:- Gary Norris Gray- BASN-Staff Reporter
The United States of America could be at the crossroads in its pragmatic racial history. In 2014 this country has proceeded to anger three minority groups.
1. The Grand Jury of Ferguson, Missouri refusing to do the right thing Monday night.
2. The lack of action by the two houses of Congress in the recent immigration debate in Washington D.C. This debate lingers with Latino-Hispanic-South American undocumented lives hanging in the balance.
3. The National Sports Media, The National Football League, Dan Snyder, and The Washington Football Club insistence on keeping its nickname even when it's defined in the dictionary as a racial slur.
This point and time in history reminds me of the traumatic spring and summer of 1968 when America happened to be at war with itself. It is happening again.
This country has always had a historic problem when a minority informs the majority they are being mistreated or misrepresented. America also may have a problem respecting the rights, the lives, or the families of minority citizens.
This has come to a full crescendo with the Presidency of Barack Hussein Obama in 2008. The drum-beat has been loud and clear and currently Native Americans are hearing it too with the issue of the professional football club's nickname in Washington D.C.
The Native American Indian protest and education form in Santa Clara, California could be the beginning of the end of the "REDSKIN" name.
Everywhere the Washington Football Club has played the past five years there have been voices of decent, voices of protest. On Sunday November 23 the voices of protest arrived at Levi's Stadium.
The (NCARSM) National Coalition Against Racism In Sports and the Media along with (AIM) The American Indian Movement created a protest tour connecting with each state local Native American tribe to achieve this goal.
The California Native American Tribes with the assistance of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of San Jose, California formed a united front against the Washington Football team's nickname. These men, women, and children came to Northern California to educate the San Francisco 49er football faithful. They came to teach how hateful and racist this name is. They came to tell the origin of the name.
They all came to enlighten the San Francisco fan base to the rich colorful and historical heritage of Native American Indians.
Tribal leaders Charlene Teters, Morning Star Gali, and Clyde Bellecourt came to explain the emotional and physical damage that has been perpetrated on the Native American Communities.
This event reveled the sharp racial divide in this country that has to be fixed. Some white fans arriving in Washington Football team gear wanted to understand why the name was offensive while African American fans in burgundy and gold were not interested or even indifferent about the issue. Both sides Black and white tried to defend the name stating that this was political correctness run amuck. WHAT WILL BE NEXT? The answer was quick, bold, and loud, The Cleveland Indian Mascot. "LITTLE RED GRINNING SABO". Both Black and white Washington football fans walked away shaking their collective heads.
Young Native American boys or girls receive these taunts from fellow classmates in Jr. High or high school yelling that despicable name. What about Native American college students who have to explain their ethnicity to others.
Amanda Blackhorse from Arizona has also been fighting the fight with the Washington trademark. The growing movement to change the name of the Washington Redskins football team scored a surprising victory in July 2014. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office canceled the team's trademark registration after concluding its name and logo are disparaging to Native Americans.
The Washington Football Club with Dan Snyder appealed the ruling and is currently in court.
The House of Cards is slowly tumbling down only the Washington Football Club owner, Dan Snyder cannot comprehend it. Mr. Snyder continues to defend himself with Native Americans that are being paid to stand by him. My fellow Americans that is called a bribe.
Mr. Snyder claims that this name stands for tradition, history, and pride. WHO IS HE TALKING ABOUT? He also lovingly speaks of George Preston Marshall as the patriarch. It is interesting that Mr. Snyder forgot to tell the sports media and Americans that Mr. Marshall was a devoted segregationist and lead the way to ban African Americans from the game of football in 1933.
Note:- The Washington Football Club was the last team to hire a Black player in 1962 with a gentle nudge from President John F. Kennedy.
Is this the kind of legacy Dan Snyder wants to leave behind?
Last question, would Mr. Snyder interact with a Native America, greeting them with a hello "REDSKIN"? I think not!!!! It is a pejorative and everybody knows it except Mr. Snyder.
Charlene Teters could not have ended the rally with a more poignant statement,"It is now only a matter of time, it is not if, it is just when"
It was a very powerful and uplifting day in Santa Clara and Levi's Stadium.
