People who say African Americans are complaining when they say our issues are not being addressed are really disrespecting those the Black community. Fredrick Douglass said that "power concedes nothing without a demand" he also said Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning.” Making your demands known is part of the political process and every group does it.

From the WP This is so true.I have attached the article."In her speech yesterday, Michelle Obama talked in personal terms about her own and President Obama’s modest upbringings. She discussed her own father’s struggles as a pump operator to put her through school and Obama’s grandmother and single mother, who suffered pay discrimination. She talked about how student loans enabled both Obamas to eventually enjoy lucrative careers."
