Thanksgiving - a day off from the hustle and bustle and all that’s going on in the world. It’s a big Family and Friends day that will have many traveling near and far to be with loved ones and to eat like it’s the last supper. But before we pass the turkey along with all the fixings, let’s all take a moment to reflect on the original intent for this day and give thanks. Since 1621 when the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast as a symbol of cooperation, the pilgrims gave thanks to God for a successful bounty of crops.
Likewise, we all have something to be thankful for, whether the bounty is plentiful or sparse. Revive that spirit of cooperation and gratitude by being a blessing to someone else. Help someone that is less fortunate and can’t afford a turkey and all the fixings. Visit, call or invite someone to dinner that may otherwise be alone or less fortunate.
With a heart of gratitude for all of our blessings continue to Be Free and Be Thankful and as always ,Live Life with a Purpose! Have a Safe, Enjoyable and Meaningful Thanksgiving from all of us here at Tanya Free and Friends Radio

Los Angeles Airport police said two passengers were double-booked, and an African American man was asked to switch seats — which prompted questions over why he was the one singled out, and a disturbance involving several passengers ensued. “I’m not talking to you, you don’t talk to me,” according to the witness. The flight attendant then told him he was going to have to get off the plane and called the police to report him as a threat. Spirit Airlines has reportedly been accused of discrimination before, also concerning confusion over a double-booked seat.

We have had three Republican and one Democratic Presidential Debates so far. Have the issues important to you been addressed? President Obama called several aspects of the death penalty “Deeply Troubling” in a recent interview. Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton breaks with her fellow Democratic contenders after announcing that she does not favor abolishing the death penalty, but would like to see it used more judiciously. About six in 10 Americans favor the use of the death penalty for a person convicted of murder, according to a recent poll. WMXP FM Greenville SC founder Efia Nwanganza joins the conversation to discuss the Justice For Spring Valley High School Rally that she organized last week on the grounds of the Statehouse in South Carolina. These stories and more this Wednesday on the The Tanya Free and Friends Talk Show.
Efia Nwangaza is a lifelong civil/human rights activist and freedom fighter who first worked for the liberation of African/Black people as a child in her Garveyite parents' apostolic faith church, in her birth place of Norfolk, Virginia. At age 13 years, she served as secretary of the Norfolk Branch of the NAACP Youth and College Chapter and, later in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania she fought police violence, worked in the sucessful NAACP led campaign to desegregate Girard College, "a school for poor white, male, orphans" which then sat in the heart of Black North Philadelphia. Efia and her family helped raise money and collect clothes and food to send South for those evicted and persecuted for attempting and registering to vote.
